Support Groups

The Victoria Branch of the BCSS has Family Support Groups that meet on a monthly basis. These on-going support groups are for family members or persons in recovery who have been living with a mental illness for several years. We welcome new members in need of family peer support. The groups not only offer counsel and friendship but also information about research as well as BCSS Victoria Branch events.

The empathy found in these groups alleviates some of the isolation and frustration endured by families. Long-standing members pass on problem-solving techniques and information on how to gain access to the mental health services. Each family support group has a facilitator who introduces new members to the groups.
