The aims of the BCSS Partnership Program are to:
- Provide education to the public, professionals, families and people with schizophrenia;
- Provide families and people with schizophrenia training in the critical skills necessary to empower them to make choices that enhance their quality of life;
- Maintain ongoing communication of the need of families and consumers;
- Co-ordinate partnership throughout the province;
- Work in partnership with other agencies involving consumers and families;
- Collate and disseminate information on programs based on the partnership model;
- Provide peer interaction, support and self-advocacy.
The Partnership Education Model works through community educators, schools, universities, colleges, public meetings, and with in-service training to financial aid workers, crisis lines, lay counseling services, social workers, police officers, home support workers, ambulance drivers, & mental health staff. advocacy, consultation committees and advisory boards.
