Dear BCSS Victoria Member,
This is a follow up to the invitation to General Meeting on July 24th. After a question and answer period, we will be asking that a motion be made to ratify the motion that was approved by the Victoria Branch to rescind our relationship with BCSS Provincial. This is following the withdrawal of the Nanaimo and Campbell River Branches.
On behalf of the BCSS Victoria Board
Sincerely,

Early intervention in schizophrenia and psychosis reduces suffering, improves quality of life, and reduces future episodes. Today for #NSPAD18, learn more about the early symptoms and warning signs of psychosis and schizophrenia. #SupportSZ #CMHA100 | Image 3 “Right care at right time” |
3% of Canadians will be affected by schizophrenia and psychosis in early adulthood – usually between ages of 15-25. Learn more about the warning signs and early symptoms for #NSPAD18 #SupportSZ #CMHA100 | Image 4 “3 percent of Canadians” |
Today, for National Schizophrenia and Psychosis Awareness Day, remember that your illness doesn’t define you – your strength does. #NSPAD18 #SupportSZ #CMHA100

Language matters! For #NSPAD18, remember to use the language “person with schizophrenia” rather than “schizophrenic person.” Schizophrenia is an illness, not an identity. #SupportSZ #CMHA100

Whats so funny about mental health? As far as Stand Up For Mental Health (SMH) is concerned – everything!
We are proud to co-sponsor this event, which “takes a hilarious look at the lighter side of taking meds, dealing with addictions, seeing counselors, getting diagnosed, and surviving the mental health system, and features David Granirer and the new group of SMH Victoria comics he has just trained.”
This was a truly wonderful evening with our graduating comedy class! Thank you to everyone who came out for some fun and to bust some stigma! Thank you for supporting our courageous and hilarious friends and community.
